For The Love Of Mango Salsa

Since summer is slowly coming to an end and I am in complete denial, I have decided to make a tasty and refreshing summer dip to pretend like I am on the beach somewhere far far away and not in quarantine in our four by four apartment. Hence, I made this delicious mango salsa.

Mangos are a huge part of a Cuban diet and everyone and their mothers always had a mango tree growing up in Miami. If you did not have a mango tree in your yard, then your neighbors would surely have one in theirs. And if that tree had a branch that would cross the fence into your yard, that branch automatically became your part of the tree and the mangos that grew on that branch were your mangos! That is the way of the land in South Florida. So, needless to say, everyone had mangos!

What ingredients do you use to make Mango Salsa?

Although there are many variations to mango salsa, this salsa only takes five simple ingredients. To make this salsa, you are going to need ripe mangos, cilantro, red onions, jalapenos, and lime juice. That’s it! Super easy and it is made within minutes!

How do I know what’s the perfect mango?

The perfect mango for this salsa is an almost ripe mango in my opinion. I like the mango to be soft when pressure is applied on the skin but not too soft that I make a large indentation. I typically use a red mango to make my salsa, but any type of mango would work just fine!

How else can I use Mango Salsa?

This salsa is not only great for using it as a dip, but you can put it on basically anything to give your meal an extra flare! I love using it as a topping for my nachos and tacos. It also goes great on some pork chops, giving it a nice refreshing touch.

Don’t forget to let me know how much you enjoyed this salsa in the comments below and if you love mangos, check out my mango margarita!
