Swordfish has quickly moved up on the list of our favorite fish to eat in our household. My wife is not a huge fan of fish but this pan seared swordfish recipe is to die for and she constantly asks me to make it for her. We are huge steak fans, and if you haven’t had swordfish before it is not as flaky as regular fish and has more of a steak consistency which we love. Swordfish also does not have that overpowering fishy taste that other types of fish have, like salmon or tilapia.
How do you make Pan Seared Cilantro Lime Swordfish Recipe?
The way I love to make my swordfish is to sear it in a skillet and then finish it off in the oven. Prior to cooking the swordfish, I season and marinate the swordfish with garlic powder, salt, red pepper flakes, cilantro, lime, and diced red onions. I let it marinate for about 20 minutes. Be careful not to let it over marinate because the lime will actually start to cook the fish and you will end up having ceviche on your hands!
After it has finished marinating, I heat up an oven proof skillet over high heat, and once it’s hot, I coat the skillet with oil and lower the heat to medium. At this point, I add my swordfish and sear each side for 2-3 minutes, until I get a brown sear on each side. After, I place the swordfish in the oven at 350 degrees for five minutes and that’s it! Super easy and quick to make, making it the perfect dish for any weekday.
What sides should I serve with swordfish?
I love to pair swordfish with some type of starch and vegetables. My favorite being roasted herb potatoes and air fried Brussel sprouts, but feel free to try any other starch or vegetables!
