Summer is around the corner so it’s time to start firing up those grills! I wanted to share with you all my delicious chimichurri recipe! Up here in New York, I have found it a little difficult to find good chimichurri. The stores sometimes make their own brand, but they are not always available. I am not too sure if it is a seasonal thing or what, but I have resorted to making my own chimichurri and my god it is delicious!
Growing up in South Florida, BBQ season is year round and there is nothing tastier than a nice skirt steak slathered with chimichurri, and grilled to perfection. My favorite brand from down in Miami is Graziano’s but obviously they do not have it up here in New York. Graziano’s in Miami is one of my favorite places to go to when I am in the mood for a delicious grilled meal.
How do you make chimichurri?
Chimichurri is extremely easy to make! It is a combination of herbs, spices, and oil all blend together to give you an amazing combination of flavors. It takes a lot of cilantro and parsley and the garlic and red pepper flakes gives it a nice kick. You combine all the ingredients in a food processor and you are done. A lot of recipes call for extra virgin olive oil, but I like to do mine with light olive oil. I find that the extra virgin olive oil can be overpowering and it hides the fragrant flavors of the herbs in the sauce. Feel free to try both ways out.
