For The Love Of Black Bean Hummus

It’s the recipe you’ve “bean” waiting for! I have been dying to make my own black bean hummus for a while and now with my partnership with Chifles, I figured that this would be the perfect time to do so! Since we are constantly snacking in my house, I figured this would be the best snack to make. I am not lying when I tell you that we go through a bag of chips every day before dinner. At first, I was slightly intimidated and thought it would be difficult to make but it was actually extremely easy. Have a can a beans? Good! You basically add the beans and the rest of the ingredients in the food processor and BAM! You have your very own black bean hummus.

Black Bean Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 15oz Black beans in a can
  • 2 tbsp Extra light olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Lime
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Oregano
  • ¼ tsp Onion powder
  • tsp Cumin
  • tsp Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  • Drain the beans from the can and place in a food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and puree until smooth.
  • Transfer to a bowl and dress with red pepper flakes if you wish. Serve with plantain chips and enjoy!
