Stop what you are doing and go ahead and make this guava strawberry margarita. Just go. You deserve it! Strawberry season spans a very short time period, so when we are in it we have to take full advantage of it! Obviously I combined it with my favorite ingredient.. GUAVA! This margarita is extremely light and refreshing and perfect to drink at the poolside. But just because they are sweet, that doesn’t mean they wont creep up on you!
What is in a guava strawberry margarita?
As you can guess, it consists of guava nectar, strawberries, lemon, tequila, and triple sec. If you want to make it a little sweeter, feel free to add some honey into the mix.
What is Guava Nectar?
Guava Nectar is a non-carbonated beverage created from the pulp of the guava fruit giving it the guava flavor. You can either use it to mix it with other ingredients to make cocktails or drink it on its own. I am going to forewarn you, that if you love guava, you may be drinking this nectar straight from the bottle.
Should I use salt or sugar for my rim?
This is a matter of preference. I prefer salt on this margarita to give it that sweet and salty taste, but if you prefer sugar, feel free to do so! If using sugar, instead of using lime to wet the rim of your glass, I suggest to use water.
How do you make a guava strawberry margarita?
- Clean your strawberries: Wash your strawberries under cold water and cut off the stem portion.
- Blend: Place your strawberries, guava nectar, lime, triple sec, tequila and honey (optional) in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Prepare your rim: Using a lime wedge, wet the rim of your glass. Place salt on a plate and rotate the rim of the glass on the salt.
- Add ice and pour: Add ice to your cup and pour your margarita into it. If you would like to strain your margarite to remove some of the pulp feel free to do so before pouring it into your glass.
