For The Love Of Mojitos

What can I say about mojitos?! Hands down it’s the best cocktail out there. We choose our wedding venue was based on the fact they would provide us with mojitos. First question asked: “Can you make mojitos?” No?! Thank you, NEXT!! If they said yes, the second question was: “Is it extra?” Yes?! Ok, thank you, NEXT! The venue we finally got married at was amazing! They said that we can have mojitos for no extra charge as long as we bring in the mint leaves. So obviously, I bought a farm, grew mint leaves throughout our engagement and everyone had mojitos at our wedding. Just kidding, it was just easier to buy them at the grocery store.

I worked at Houston’s while in college and I was the bartender that would make all the drinks for the tables. Well, I used to hate making these so much. Not because they are hard to make, but because you knew that when someone orders a mojito, the whole table is going to end up ordering mojitos, and the table next to them, and then they are going to be drinking it so fast that they are going to be ordered faster than you can make it. You end up making so many that you dream that night that you are in a nightmare of continuous muddling of mint leaves and limes.

Now do I feel guilty ordering a mojito when I go out? Yeah, sure I do, because I know a bartender is going to hate me. But are they so good that it out ways the guilt? Yes, they are, and you end up getting so drunk that at the end you forget about the guilt. But for real, next time you go out, order a mojito and see how many people around you end up drinking one.
