So fun fact about me, I used to be a bartender for a restaurant called Houston’s. For those of you who have been there, you know that one of the best things on their menu is probably their spinach artichoke dip which is made in house. I am not going to lie, I would eat one of these before each of my shifts. Although I worked there, I was never told the secret to their recipe and why it was so good. Now, after several years and multiple attempts, I believe I have created a version that is just as good as theirs! This spinach artichoke dip recipe is creamy, cheesy, and so flavorful, making it the perfect dip for any event.
Can I serve this dip cold?
The answer is of course! I will say that it’s so much better when it is warmed up and the cheese is all gooey and melted. I promise you won’t regret it. Also, this recipe makes so much dip that you can probably cook half of it and serve it warm and serve the other half cold.
How do you make a spinach artichoke dip?
- Combine all your ingredients: Thaw and drain your frozen spinach as instructed by the package. It can be easily done in the microwave. Drain one can of quartered artichoke hearts. Place both the thawed spinach and artichokes in a bowl. Add your sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella, cream cheese, chopped garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine all the ingredients together and store in the fridge until you are ready to cook.
- Cook the spinach and artichoke dip: Once ready to cook, preheat your oven to 350F. Place the spinach dip in an oven safe dish and top with mozzarella. Cook in the oven for 20-30 minutes, until the cheese on top is melted and golden. Serve with tostito chips and enjoy!
Can I make this dip beforehand?
Yes! If you are making this dip for a gathering, I suggest preparing it before all your guests arrive and place it in the fridge. Once they arrive, pop it in the oven and allow it to cook. This way, all you’re doing is cooking it and serving it right away.
