Guava Barbecue Sauce

Guava Barbecue Sauce

If you haven’t guessed by now, I love guava! If I can make something with it, you know it will be a recipe on this blog. I have been wanting to make this guava barbecue sauce for a while now and I figured making it for Labor Day weekend is the perfect time since many of us will be grilling outdoors.

How do you make Guava Barbecue Sauce?

Guava Barbecue Sauce

So, I always thought that making barbecue sauce was an extremely long and tedious process, until I started researching how to make it.  And let me tell you that it is actually quite simple and only takes minutes. You basically throw all the ingredients in a pot and cook it for about 15 minutes until it becomes thick. I am telling you, it is that simple!

When I was researching on how to make barbecue sauce, I saw that there were many different variations. Some people use ketchup as a base, and others use tomato paste. I decided to go with tomato paste for this recipe, because depending on the ketchup you buy, it can change the taste of the recipe.

What can I use this sauce on?

I created this sauce to make baby back ribs because I have been missing Flanigan’s back home. For those of you who do not know what Flanigan’s is, it is the best bar food restaurant you will ever go to. During the week they have Joe’s meals deals and you basically get to enjoy a feast for $15. Anyway, I made this sauce and lathered my baby back ribs in it, but I had a little left over so then I started dipping everything in it, especially Chick-fil-A nuggets!
