Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta as directed by the box.
Dice your onions, garlic, and green peppers.
Add the olive oil to a pan and heat over medium-high heat. Once hot, add your diced onions, garlic, and green peppers. Cook for five minutes.
While your sofrito is cooking, slice the chorizo. Add the chorizo to the sofrito and toss to combine. Cook for another five minutes, until the chorizo starts turning brown.
After, add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste, along with salt, onion powder, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and bring it to a boil.
Once boiling, lower the heat to medium-low, cover, and allow the sauce to simmer for about 10 minutes.
Once your pasta is cooked, drain the water from the pot. Add the sauce to the pasta and mix.
