Ingredients

  • 1 box of store bought apple pie crust I prefer pillspurry pie crust

For the crumble

  • 2 ½ cups of flour
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of salted butter melted

For the filling

  • 2 Granny smith apples
  • 2 Red and delicious apples
  • 11 oz 11 tbsp of guava paste (diced)
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • tsp of nutmeg
  • tsp of allspice

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450F.
  • Take your store bought crust out and let it thaw.

How to make the crumble

  • To make the crumble, combine the flour, sugar, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl and stir.
  • Place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes, while you make your filling and assemble the crusts.

Guava Apple Crumble Pie Filling

  • Peel and cut your apples. Slice the apples and then dice them into pieces. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan, add your diced guava and melt over medium-high heat, while continuously stirring. About 5-10 minutes. Be careful not to burn the guava.
  • Once melted, add your brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Stir to combine.
  • Turn off the heat and add the diced apples into the mixture and stir to coat all the apples with the guava sauce. Set aside.

Assembling the pies

  • Spray a muffin pan with nonstick oil.
  • Cut 24, 1x8-10 in. strips of parchment paper. Place two strips of parchment paper in an ‘X’ shape in each spot of the muffin pan. This will allow you to remove the pies when they are done easily.
  • Roll out your store bought pie crust (should be 2 in a box). Cut out 6, 4 in. circles from both pie crusts, giving you a total of 12 circles. With a rolling pin, roll each circle out to make it about 5-6 inches in diameter.
  • Place each circular pie crust into all the slots on the muffin pan. The parchment paper should be sticking out of the outer edges of each miniature pie.
  • Fill each pie with about ¼ cup of filling.
  • Remove the crumble from the freezer and crumble it in the bowl. Top each miniature pie with the crumble. Make sure to put a lot of crumble. You will have a lot of extra crumble and that’s okay.

Cooking the miniature guava apple crumble pies

  • Once your pies are prepared, lower the temperature in the oven to 350F.
  • Place the pies in the oven and cook for 25-30 minutes, until the crumble becomes golden-brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the pies to cool for about five minutes. After, remove each pie from the pan by pulling up on the parchment paper strips. Your pies should easily come out of the pan.
  • Allow to cool for another five minutes and serve with ice cream!
